John Hablitschek spent more than a year creating this handcrafted rhodonite coffee table—a peaceful focal point that brings natural warmth and calm to any space. The table features a mahogany base, carefully finished to highlight the beauty of its grain, and a polished rhodonite slab with rich red-to-pink tones, natural inclusions, and distinctive veining. Each stone was hand-selected and set to preserve its organic flow, depth, and light-catching character.
John Hablitschek has created similar custom gemstone pieces for notable clients, including commissions for the British royal family back in the 70s when the first tables were made. (story is here). These works reflect his rare talent for combining fine stonework with expert craftsmanship. Now 91 and nearly retired, he leaves behind only a small number of these exceptional, one-of-a-kind pieces.
